Job Summary
Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for 5,000+ employees across multiple legal entities using UKG software, handling general ledger entries, reconciliations, and year-end processes. Supervise and mentor six payroll staff members by delegating responsibilities, coaching, and evaluating team performance. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax filings, while conducting internal audits and resolving discrepancies. Develop procedures for new company setups and lead evaluations of payroll policies, software enhancements, and interdepartmental process improvements. Handle complex inquiries and partner with HR and Finance to resolve issues. Work on-site in Edina, MN for the first six months before transitioning to a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience
- Prior experience supervising payroll teams
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas)
- Familiarity with UKG Pro or similar HCM payroll platforms
- Knowledge of U.S. wage & hour laws, garnishments, and payroll tax compliance
- Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy under deadlines
- Position will be on-site in Edina, MN for 5 days a week for the first 6 months
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources (preferred)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential (preferred)
