Job Summary
Payroll & HR Assistant to support payroll backup, onboarding/offboarding, employee records, benefits administration, HRIS data, and confidential administrative duties for a civil-litigation firm in Columbia, SC with a hybrid/remote schedule. Responsibilities include payroll data entry, timecard reviews, payroll audits, HRIS maintenance, onboarding/offboarding support, employment verifications, benefits enrollment/changes, and general HR administration and data reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of payroll, HR, administrative, or office support experience preferred
- Basic understanding of payroll processes and HR practices
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
