Job Summary
Conduct end-to-end payroll processing for the Guatemala office, calculating salaries, overtime, commissions, and statutory deductions while ensuring compliance with Guatemalan labor laws. Manage mandatory payments including Bono 14 and Aguinaldo, prepare tax filings, and oversee IGSS contributions. Reconcile payroll transactions with General Ledger accounts, process accounts payable via Tipalti, and post journal entries in QuickBooks to support month-end close. Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, while maintaining accurate records within HRIS and payroll systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in payroll administration, accounting, or financial operations
- Strong understanding of Guatemalan Labor Law, including IGSS, payroll taxes, severance calculations, overtime regulations, and statutory bonuses (Bono 14 and Aguinaldo)
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Tipalti, Planilla (or similar payroll systems), HRIS/payroll software, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliations
- Native or advanced fluency in Spanish
- Exceptional attention to detail

- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
