Job Summary
Payroll Senior Team Lead for DePuy Synthes in Japan responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for designated countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, compliance with local statutory requirements and company standards, acting as escalation point for payroll issues, leading a team of analysts, managing third-party vendors, maintaining payroll controls and SOX compliance, driving process improvements, system testing and UAT, and collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT to ensure data integrity and timely payroll delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Payroll, HR and/or Finance operations
- Minimum of 3 years in a Management/People Leader role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing concepts and statutory payroll requirements
- Proficiency with payroll systems (SAP and/or Workday preferred; ADP and other payroll systems advantageous)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic macros)
- Experience with case management or ticketing tools
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision
- High degree of confidentiality and adherence to data privacy and internal controls
- Customer-focused with strong stakeholder management skills
- Collaborative team player who builds effective working relationships
- Adaptable to multiple cultures and cross-functional interactions
