Job Summary
Manage day-to-day payroll operations for a client portfolio, ensuring accuracy through quality control, auditing, and compliance monitoring with contractual obligations. Oversee quarter-end and year-end processing activities while resolving issues within tight timelines and removing operational bottlenecks. Coach Payroll Specialists, develop standard operating procedures, and prepare operational metrics for executive presentations. Serve as a subject matter expert on Dayforce solutions, providing recommendations to stakeholders and supporting project rollouts. Approve payrolls and partner with internal teams to ensure legislative compliance across U.S. and Canadian payroll systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of payroll experience in high-volume payroll operations with end-to-end Canadian and/or U.S. payroll processing, including balancing, quarter-end (U.S.), ROEs (Canada), taxation, garnishments, legislation, and year-end activities.
- End-to-end payroll experience supported by strong analytical and technical expertise.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal partners, and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure, fast-changing environments.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Flexibility to support business needs, including operational hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Weekend and holiday work may occasionally be required.
- Proficiency in English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with English-speaking stakeholders, co-workers, managers and/or clients across the world.
Desired Qualifications
- Canadian Payroll certification.
