Payroll Coordinator

Job Summary
Review, audit, and approve employee timecards daily and weekly, resolving missed punches, clock-in discrepancies, and unapproved overtime before payroll deadlines. Track California meal period and rest break compliance, escalating penalty situations to the General Manager, while maintaining organized records for all seasonal staff. Serve as the primary point of contact for staff questions regarding timecards, pay periods, and schedules, conducting onboarding orientations for new hires. Liaise with the corporate payroll team to submit accurate data by required deadlines and track final timecards during post-season closeout. Generate daily and weekly reports for management and document recurring issues or policy violations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in payroll administration, timekeeping coordination, or HR support
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Availability for daytime hours with occasional evening support during peak operational periods
- Working knowledge of timekeeping and payroll platforms
- Solid understanding of California wage and hour law including meal periods, rest breaks, and overtime requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, discreet, and able to manage sensitive employee information with professionalism
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume seasonal environment with shifting priorities
