Job Summary
Payroll Clerk responsible for processing weekly multi-state payroll for union and non-union employees with strong ADP experience and accounting concepts; duties include setting up new employees, updating job classes and pay rates, tracking vacation, handling garnishments, preparing benefits deductions, and monthly/quarterly ACA reporting and W-2/1095 processing. Requires interpreting union contracts, compliance with state wage/hour regulations, multi-state tax compliance, and accurate payroll tax returns with proficiency in Excel.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of full-cycle payroll processing
- Strong hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems, preferably Workforce Now
- Solid grasp of general accounting principles (GL, debits/credits, reconciliations)
- Experience managing complex multi-state payroll tax requirements
- High level of accuracy and ability to handle confidential information
- Highly skilled in Excel
- Team player and able to interact easily with co-workers
- Organized and detail oriented
- Self-initiative
- Strong communication and a positive, can-do attitude
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Experience processing payroll for unionized employees
