Job Summary
Payroll & Benefits Manager oversees end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried staff and leads the strategic design and management of employee benefits and total rewards programs. This role balances hands-on payroll delivery with data-driven analysis to optimize benefits costs, ensure regulatory compliance across multi-state locations, and support employee retention. Primary responsibilities include off-cycle payroll actions, tax filings, Form 5500/EEOC reporting, open enrollment, benefits governance, and maintaining salary bands with geographic differentials. Supervises Payroll Specialist, Benefit Specialist, and HRIS Administrator. Requires 3+ years of multi-state payroll and benefits experience, proficiency with ADP Workforce Now, strong data skills, and knowledge of FLSA and benefits statutes. Hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirement during the first 90 days; location in Tigard, OR.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive experience directly managing multi-state payroll operations and corporate benefits programs
- technical mastery with enterprise payroll/HRIS platforms (preferably ADP Workforce Now)
- strong data manipulation and advanced spreadsheet skills
- up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations, FLSA exemptions, payroll taxation, and benefits statutes
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field
