Payroll Assistant – US Market

Job Summary
Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll for employees in the United States, including reviewing and maintaining employee records, hours worked, compensation changes, deductions, and time-off data. Perform payroll reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries while collaborating with U.S.-based stakeholders to resolve issues. Update, validate, and extract information using payroll and HR systems to maintain accurate documentation according to established procedures. Handle payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and garnishments as applicable. This part-time role in Curitiba supports a U.S.-based client within a BPO model, offering exposure to U.S. business practices in a collaborative international environment.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in payroll, HR operations, finance, accounting, or a related administrative function
- Familiarity with payroll processes and strong attention to detail when handling employee and financial data
- Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, filtering, sorting, lookups, and data reconciliation
- Experience using payroll, HRIS, ERP, or similar business systems
- Ability to handle confidential information and work accurately within established processes and deadlines
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with international stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. payroll processes or working with U.S.-based clients is a plus
- Familiarity with multi-state payroll, payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits deductions, PTO, or year-end payroll processes is a plus
- Knowledge of platforms such as ADP, Workday, UKG, Paychex, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar systems is a plus
