Payroll Assistant Manager

Job Summary
Manage end-to-end processing of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact for client queries to ensure timely resolution. Ensure accurate processing and full compliance with Irish payroll legislation, including PAYE, USC, PRSI, and Benefits-in-Kind, while maintaining all statutory records and Revenue requirements. Support the Payroll Manager by reviewing processes, mentoring junior team members, and driving continuous improvement within the Employment Tax team. Contribute to payroll-related projects as required, utilizing expertise in systems such as Quantum, EuropayX, and Sage Micropay. This role offers a fast-paced environment within Grant Thornton's expanding Payroll Team, ideal for candidates with four years of payroll experience and an IPASS qualification.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years' payroll experience in a payroll bureau or professional services environment
- Strong knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, including PAYE, USC, PRSI and Benefits-in-Kind (BIK)
- Experience using ROS & EFT processes
- Experience with payroll systems such as Quantum, EuropayX and Sage Micropay
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Client relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
