Job Summary
Payroll Assistant will process bi-weekly payroll, maintain payroll system data, and prepare/ reconcile payroll reports. The role collaborates with HR to ensure accurate employee data, processes 403(b) and 457(b) contributions, and handles payroll inquiries, deductions, and year-end tasks. Responsibilities also include preparing agency salary reports, supporting payroll audits, and contributing to process improvements, all within the Homes for the Homeless central office in NYC. The position requires ADP Workforce Now experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in payroll, accounting, finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of payroll systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking and networking
