Job Summary
Manage and process payroll data by collecting and verifying timekeeping information, calculating wages including overtime and bonuses, and administering direct deposits. Perform audits to ensure accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues regarding employee pay or tax deductions. Maintain precise electronic and paper records, prepare reports for supervisors, and coordinate with HR and Accounting teams. Stay informed on tax law changes and communicate with employees and management on payroll inquiries. Requires ADP experience and a BS degree in Finance or Accounting.
Required Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Payroll Analyst or similar role in the HR department
- Strong knowledge of labor legislation and payroll processes
- Experience with payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good math skills with the ability to spot numerical errors
- Attention to detail and confidentiality
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in payroll systems and software to effectively manage payroll operations and ensure data accuracy
- Strong analytical skills to examine payroll data, identify discrepancies, and implement appropriate corrections
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills for maintaining precise payroll records and documents
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, social security, and other deductions to ensure accurate calculations and adherence to local, state, and federal laws
- Excellent numerical skills to manage large amounts of data and perform accurate calculations
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with employees, management, and external agencies regarding payroll-related inquiries and issues
- Problem-solving skills to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues promptly and efficiently
- Proficiency in using Excel or similar software for data management and reporting
- Strong understanding of employment law, tax regulations, and confidentiality principles related to payroll administration
- BS degree in Finance, HR, Accounting or relevant field
- 3-5 years of payroll processing
- Must have experience with ADP
