Payroll Analyst

Job Summary
Payroll Analyst responsible for accurate, compliant payroll processing across multiple business units and jurisdictions in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities include auditing payroll transactions, researching discrepancies, identifying trends and anomalies in payroll data, maintaining employee data and tax details, supporting implementation of payroll best practices, reconciling quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, responding to agency notices, and generating payroll and HR reports with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy. The role requires strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, compensation practices, and payroll taxation, and involves collaboration with HR, payroll operations, and systems teams, as well as providing guidance and training to payroll support staff. Proficiencies in direct deposit, garnishments, tax setup, batch file processing, and year-end reporting are expected, along with a proactive approach to process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of payroll operations, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws
- Experience working with enterprise payroll platforms and third-party payroll providers
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
