Job Summary

Payroll Administrator position focused on end-to-end payroll processing for non-union hourly and salaried staff in a healthcare/senior-living environment, ensuring compliance with wage-and-hour laws, tax filings, and accurate payroll-to-general ledger reconciliation. Responsibilities include calculating wages, overtime, shift differentials, PTO, bonuses, managing payroll deductions and benefits, responding to employee payroll inquiries, maintaining confidential payroll data, posting payroll journal entries, month-end/year-end closes, audits, and coordination with payroll vendors and HRIS/Finance systems for accurate reporting and integration. Strong ADP experience, Excel proficiency, and ability to meet tight deadlines are required.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in a non-union environment
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, or multi-shift environments strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as ADP
  • Working knowledge of payroll accounting, journal entries, and GL reconciliation
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage and hour compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Office
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or state regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and outside vendors
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages
  • Ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
