Job Summary
Payor Relations Specialist responsible for building and managing contracted payor relationships, supporting initiation, management, and expansion of payor contracts, coordinating payor meetings, and presenting KPI/metrics to leadership. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, educates Sales and Marketing on the payor landscape, maintains accurate payor records, and tracks market trends. Requires healthcare payor domain knowledge, negotiation capabilities, and strong communication and relationship-building skills to optimize reimbursement terms and drive utilization of contracted payors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a healthcare-oriented position
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Independent judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to travel occasionally
- Ability to understand healthcare insurance industry and key metrics/indicators
- Ability to educate payors and internal teams about payor landscape
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
