Payments & Reconciliation Transformation Lead

Job Summary
Own the strategy and execution for bank reconciliation automation by partnering with tech, treasury, and regional teams to integrate cutting-edge tools directly into the ERP. Design and standardize robust pre- and post-payment vendor reconciliation systems, investigating complex transactions to eliminate duplicate payments, resolve aged balances, and ensure absolute compliance. Actively identify operational bottlenecks, design corrective action plans, and serve as the gatekeeper of financial policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to keep teams audit-ready. Provide direct mentorship, coaching, and career development for a team of finance professionals while acting as the strategic deputy to the Payments & Treasury leadership team. Lead high-stakes cross-functional projects and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Required Qualifications
- Certified CPA or ACCA Finalist
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
- At least 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in finance operations, treasury, payments, or financial controls
- Deep expertise in bank, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced hands-on experience with modern ERP systems
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Citizen or permanent resident of Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, or Nigeria
