Job Summary
Payments Data Platform Lead Software Engineer on JPMorgan Chase’s Commercial and Investment Banking - Data Analytics Payment team. Responsible for executing creative software solutions across multiple technical areas, developing secure production-grade code, designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices, owning the full software development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production support, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, collaborating with product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions, automating remediation of recurrent issues to improve stability, leading evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams, driving communities of practice around new technologies, and contributing to an inclusive team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts
- 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering
- 3+ years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software engineering
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, and OpenSource technologies; experience with Python, Go, or Node.js
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tooling
- Proficient in SDLC
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, Security)
- Practical cloud-native experience
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
