Job Summary
Senior Payments Commercial Attorney – Vice President, Assistant General Counsel for JPMorgan Chase. Responsible for drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements, advising on products/services and new product implementations, drafting customer-facing terms of service, coordinating with multiple lines of business, providing broad legal advice to the business and corporate functions, collaborating with partners across functions, managing outside counsel, and supporting cross-border, cross-functional initiatives within the JPMorgan Payments legal team. Requires J.D. and at least 5 years of relevant experience in financial services; strong drafting/negotiation skills; ability to operate in a fast-paced, global environment; licensure to practice law.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. degree
- minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house within a financial institution or bank
- strong legal and technical drafting skills
- transactional and negotiating experience
- pragmatic mindset with the ability to provide concrete, actionable legal advice
- capacity to assume significant independent responsibility immediately
- comfortable operating in fast-paced, global, and cross-border environments
- strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- outstanding organizational and project management abilities, managing multiple complex matters simultaneously
- excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with senior executives and non-legal professionals
- ability to build and maintain strong client and colleague relationships
- licensure to practice law in the country of employment and successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance
