Payment Solutions Specialist

Job Summary
Contact members regarding delinquent consumer and mortgage loan accounts to discuss repayment options and resolution strategies. Investigate underlying causes of account delinquency and work collaboratively to develop payment arrangements that support financial success. Educate members on available resources, review loan documentation, and perform collection activities in compliance with applicable laws and credit union policies. Identify accounts unlikely to be cured and initiate appropriate next steps while maintaining accurate documentation of interactions and account status. Make sound, risk-based decisions balancing member service with organizational objectives to minimize delinquency and loss.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in a collections environment or financial industry call center
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration
- Strong knowledge of consumer collection practices, bankruptcy laws, compliance requirements, and related regulations
- Understanding of consumer and mortgage loan products and documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make effective risk-based decisions and exercise sound judgment
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism in challenging situations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Travel to branch locations may require exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary coursework in business or a related field
