PAYMENT POSTING SPECIALIST

Job Summary
Retrieve and process electronic and manual remittance advice, then prepare, organize, and reconcile insurance payment batches to ensure accurate posting and balancing. Post patient and insurance payments accurately while applying contractual adjustments, deductibles, and other payer-specific amounts. Reconcile posted batches daily, resolve discrepancies, and research unidentified payments or recoupments to determine appropriate account resolution. Review Explanation of Benefits and Electronic Remittance Advice documents to identify denials, underpayments, and reimbursement issues, communicating significant concerns to leadership. Monitor credit balances daily, process refunds, and investigate overpayments to ensure accurate disposition in accordance with organizational policies. Assist with revenue cycle workflows, support billing queues, and collaborate with Finance and other departments to improve payment accuracy and efficiency. Maintain accurate documentation of all activities while adhering to HIPAA and federal regulations. Work primarily in an office environment with direct patient interaction, requiring standing, walking, and hand-eye coordination.
