Job Summary
Remote Payment Posting Representative responsible for accurately recording and reconciling incoming payments from patients, insurance companies, and other third-party payers. Tasks include posting payments daily, reviewing payments (checks, EFTs, credit cards, ERA files), verifying patient and insurance details, identifying and escalating discrepancies, applying adjustments (deductibles, co-payments, contractual adjustments), routing denied claims to appropriate queues in the EMR, generating and reconciling daily posting reports, ensuring posting amounts align with EMR batches, and assisting with troubleshooting system-related issues affecting cash posting processes. Requires familiarity with medical billing practices, A/R processes, and HIPAA; healthcare billing/revenue cycle experience; strong attention to detail; and preferred exposure to eClinicalWorks and SmartSheet.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and billing practices
- Knowledge of the accounts receivables (A/R) process
- Min of 1 years of experience in revenue cycle management
- One year healthcare or insurance billing processing experience required
- One plus years' customer service experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPC codes, CCI edits and HIPAA regulations
- eClinicalWorks experience a plus
- SmartSheet experience a plus
