Job Summary
Review and analyze payer posting-related problems and trends to determine required actions. Prepare strategies to improve policy development and standard operating procedures for payment posting. Coordinate and organize the daily posting of wires, lockboxes, and credit card payments into the billing system. Work through assigned queues, reconcile undistributed and Provider-Level Adjustments accounts monthly, and prepare monthly reconciliation reports for Finance. Assist staff with obtaining National Provider Identifier numbers, locating Explanations of Benefits, and resolving load or process errors in Epic. Respond to incoming department phone calls and research payment posting inquiries. Complete special projects as needed to support the Patient Accounting and Finance departments.
Required Qualifications
- Must obtain CRCS certification within one year of hire date
- Associate degree or High School Diploma/GED with at least 60 college credits in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience in medical payment posting
- Some experience with archiving electronic data and using hardware such as scanners, printers, and related computer equipment
- Minimum of one year of experience in an office setting and supporting administrative and clerical office operations
- Previous experience in a billing office
- Prior experience working with Provider-Level Adjustments
