Job Summary
Develop and execute verification and validation plans for digital telecommunications payload systems, including requirements verification through system-level and component-level testing. Validate performance of architectures involving Software Defined Radio processors and digital beamforming systems while conducting RF testing with industry-standard equipment. Configure laboratory instruments using SCPI and VISA interfaces, develop automation scripts in Python or MATLAB, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues. Prepare technical documentation and test reports to support project milestones. This role supports next-generation payload architectures within the aerospace or telecommunications industry, requiring immediate start and legal authorization to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be eligible to obtain the required security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications systems, particularly digital payloads
- Strong expertise in requirements verification through testing, including the development and execution of test plans
- Solid understanding of: Digital payload architectures
- Solid understanding of: Software Defined Radio (SDR)-based flexible processors
- Solid understanding of: Digital beamforming using DRA
- Hands-on experience with: Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)
- Hands-on experience with: Spectrum Analyzers
- Hands-on experience with: Baseband Signal Generators
- Hands-on experience with: Channel Emulators
- Hands-on experience with: Bit Error Rate (BER) Testers
- Hands-on experience with: Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with: SCPI, VISA, and similar interfaces for instrument control
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with FPGA-based systems and embedded software architectures
- Experience supporting satellite payload verification, telecommunications systems, or aerospace programs
- Familiarity with RF system integration, system verification, and digital communication technologies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration skills
