Job Summary
Payload Engineer/Planner for Las Cruces, NM responsible for developing mission activities and payload configurations based on prioritized collection tasks. Duties include planning mission activities aligned with CONOPS/SOPs, selecting sensors/payloads for on-line and off-line operations, coordinating resource allocations with the Government Lead, developing automated strategies for Mission Management, and ensuring clear articulation of user intelligence needs. Collaboration across the overhead enterprise and participation in the ABO community of interest are expected, along with preparing documentation of mission activity products and conducting analyses such as timeline and trade studies.
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SSBI and SCI access
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience or no degree with 8 years of relevant experience
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies
- Good organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform tasks on a team with supervision and guidance
- Build optimal, payload-specific mission activities
- Plan mission activities in support of CONOPS and SOPs
- Plan use of sensors and payloads for collection operations
- Coordinate resource allocations with Government Lead
- Develop and maintain job aids to plan mission activities
- Develop automated strategies for Mission Management
- Ensure user intelligence needs are articulated and flow through the process
- Collaborate with ABO community of interest
- Provide validation and lineage of automated strategy to end customer
- Support strategic planning for collection against specific targets
