Job Summary
Payer Strategy Specialist role focused on verification of benefits and insurance policy review to accurately determine patient responsibility and support revenue cycle for a behavioral health provider. Responsibilities include verifying insurance benefits for new and returning patients, ensuring complete and accurate insurance information, documenting details in Salesforce, informing teams of needed actions, identifying policy clauses to aid financial decisions, educating patients and internal teams on insurance issues, directing third-party benefits to financial counseling, supporting admissions and revenue cycle teams, and investigating escalated billing inquiries with appropriate action. Requires healthcare-administrative/insurance experience, strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work a hybrid schedule in Nashville.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years related work experience in health care administrative, financial, insurance, customer services, claims, billing, call center, or management
- Knowledge of medical billing practices, office policies and procedures
- Knowledge of all confidentially requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality of medical information
- Strict attention to details
- Able to work a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in our Nashville office and located within 75 minutes' commuting distance of the office
