Job Summary
PAX Shed Specialist (2nd Shift) manages and oversees passenger shelter operations at Air Deployment Facilities, ensuring quality customer service and compliance with Defense Transportation Regulations. Responsibilities include passenger service dispatch, maintaining aircraft status boards, relaying passenger processing information to leaders and ground personnel, conducting security checks, tracking inbound/outbound missions with GDSS/SMS, assisting units with air passenger manifesting, providing flight information and delay updates, maintaining passenger safety and security, coordinating loading of personnel with Air Force partners, filing paperwork post-departure, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires knowledge of transportation regulations, ability to identify hazardous materials, operate MHE and vehicles, strong written/oral communication, willingness to work overtime, and ability to TDY; preferred candidates may have a high school diploma/GED and related transportation training. Fort Bragg, NC location with 2nd shift, on-site duties; travel to TDY locations expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of transportation functions, programs, regulations, and guides based on training and experience
- Knowledge of various classes of materials, including hazardous materials (e.g., flammable liquids and solids, corrosives, oxidizers, poisons, radioactive materials)
- Ability to distinguish colors to identify hazardous material placards
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, methods, and procedures
- Skill in written and oral communication
- Ability to operate Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) for airfield operations
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle to travel between administrative worksites and aircraft operations areas
- Must be able to work overtime
- Must be able to travel to TDY locations
