Job Summary
Senior Paving Construction Inspector responsible for overseeing urban and rural pavement rehabilitation/preservation projects with values from $1-$25 million. Reports to the Resident Engineer and may act as their representative. Duties include interfacing with contractors and meetings, mentoring or supervising other inspectors, completing daily reports and measuring/unit-price quantities, coordinating independent material sampling/testing, monitoring maintenance of traffic, taking photographs for progress tracking, and enforcing the company Code of Conduct and related safety policies. Requires reading/interpreting plans and specifications, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include an AS degree in Engineering or Construction Management and familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Site Manager, Procore, IPD, Bluebeam) and MS Word proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 7 years applicable experience
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications
- Have a valid driver's license
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by company health, safety and harassment policies
