Job Summary
Direct road and highway paving crews by interpreting blueprints, scheduling materials and equipment, and managing daily site operations. Analyze crew and cost reports to prepare for billing and adjust production, while conducting site and turnover meetings to communicate goals and enforce safety policies. Lead the team by example, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and customer needs through effective communication and professional representation.
Required Qualifications
- PennDot road construction experience
- Strong Verbal and Written Communications skills
- Ability to work with probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
- Basic computer skills including internet, email, and documentation using digital cameras
- Demonstrated leadership
- Demonstrated dependability and punctuality
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to climb, balance, crawl, stoop, crouch, kneel
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be available for outside weather conditions
- Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work around fumes or airborne particles
- Must be able to work in moderate noise levels
- Must pass pre-employment drug testing
- Must pass pre-employment physical
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of relevant PennDot road construction experience
- Supervisory or crew foreman experience
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
