Job Summary

Manage the daily operations of a paving crew, including scheduling, safety, and quality control. Lay asphalt and monitor quality at the job site, performing checks to ensure work meets contract specifications. Create work plans and schedules for each project phase, determining staff and supplies needed. Operate and maintain construction equipment daily, leading the crew to work safely and efficiently. Enforce safety and environmental policies, complete paperwork including timesheets and accident reports, and assist with manual labor as needed. This role requires an M.S.H.A. 5000-23 certificate, five years of experience, and a Class A driver's license. Based in Arizona with travel to job sites, the position involves weekend work and direct interaction with asphalt plants and subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

  • M.S.H.A. 5000-23 certificate
  • 5 years' experience as Paving Foreman
  • Ability to pass drug test and physical
  • Clean driving record/valid drivers' license
  • Ability to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
  • Willing to work in a team environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
  • Supervisory skills handling crews ranging from 6-10 people
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment
  • Excellent stamina
  • Ability to travel for work during the week or weekend when needed
  • Able to work weekends when needed
