Job Summary
Pattern Maker Machinist responsible for machining new foundry patterns and core boxes using manual equipment (lathe, milling machines, etc.), setting up and operating CNC machines, repairing and modifying tooling for injection/blow/extrusion processes, building fixtures, assembling pattern sections, conducting changeovers, finishing patterns, and reading blueprints/drawings to plan machining steps. Responsibilities also include identifying dimensions with precision instruments, exploring opportunities for 3D scanning/printing, and ensuring traceability through proper labeling.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of machining experience—specifically with foundry tooling
- Strong skills using manual machines (lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinders)
- Experience setting up and operating CNC machines (a plus)
- Familiarity with 3D scanning and 3D printing (preferred)
- Experience with injection molding, blow molding, or extrusion tooling (preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Attention to detail and a passion for craftsmanship
