Job Summary
Transport patients and equipment throughout hospitals and clinics via wheelchair or gurney, assisting floor staff with transfers to and from transport modes. Move patients, belongings, and deceased individuals to assigned departments while properly identifying patients using identification bands and communicating destinations. Lift and maneuver patients using proper body mechanics, and transport soiled equipment to cleaning areas or broken items to biomed for repairs. Clean soiled patient care equipment, stage it for redistribution, and maintain wheelchair availability in assigned staging locations. Receive transport assignments via smartphone, utilize technology systems to identify process delays, and issue or log rental equipment. Collaborate with healthcare team members to facilitate patient care, adhere to Geisinger handoff guidelines, and interact professionally with patients while avoiding idle conversation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year Related work experience
- Communication

- Must be available for Nights (10:30 pm- 7:0 am)
- Must be available for Weekends and Holidays (every 4th weekend and up to two holidays a year)
