Job Summary
Transport patients safely within the UofL Health complex, moving patients across neonatal to geriatric populations, adhering to department and hospital policies, and using proper body mechanics. Role involves learning and demonstrating competency in transporting patients, providing courteous service, and communicating effectively with management, nursing staff, patients, and families. Requires ability to identify and respond to changes in patient status, adapt to individual patient needs, and participate in ongoing training and professional development. BLS certification is required; prior hospital transport experience is preferred; the position emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, confidentiality, and adherence to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)
- Prior hospital transport experience (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
