Job Summary
Patient Transporter at IU Health Methodist Hospital; transport patients using bed, stretcher, or wheelchair; ensure safety and report changes in patient condition; collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate transfers; adhere to infection control and safety policies; requires high school diploma or equivalent, training in oxygen equipment and patient lifting, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and ability to stand and walk extensively; full-time evening shift (2:00pm–10:30pm) with every other weekend and holiday; shift pay differential.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Training in patient oxygen equipment and monitoring
- Training in patient lifting and transfers
- Infection control policies
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk extensively
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive motions (grasping, dexterity)
- No experience required
