Job Summary
Transport patients and patient equipment throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, hospital beds, or stretchers. Work as a team with nursing, medical staff, and other departments to support a safe, comfortable healing environment. Clean and disinfect transport equipment to ensure safety while following all HHS and regulatory procedures. Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently. This role requires CPR certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to stand, walk, and lift equipment over 100 lb. continuously.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Communicate effectively in English
- Work well in a team environment
- Practice good personal hygiene
- Be neatly groomed
- Be in uniform
- CPR certified (American Heart Association), or required to obtain certification with HHS
- GED or high school diploma
- Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
- Must be able to lift 100 lb.
- Must be able to stand
- Must be able to walk
- Must be able to squat
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to twist
- Must be able to kneel
- Must be able to reach
- Must be able to push and pull carts or equipment
- Must pass a background check
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must provide proof of employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption in place
Desired Qualifications
- Patient transportation experience (cleaning, environmental services, custodian, janitorial, healthcare, patient care, equipment maintenance)
