Job Summary
Transports patients, belongings, and charts safely using wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, and assists with transporting specimens, blood, and equipment. Collaborates with referral sources, patients, families, and team members; ensures transport equipment is cleaned and in good working condition; maintains infection-control practices and patient identifiers per National Patient Safety Goals and HIPAA. Supports departmental productivity by assisting with shift changes and onboarding new staff; contributes to process improvements to meet department needs. Requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and CPR/BLS certification; ~1 year of customer-service experience is preferred. This role is based at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or related (Preferred)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Upon Hire) (Preferred)
