Job Summary
Check and plan daily bookings within the Cleric controlling system, ensuring correct resourcing for sub-contractors, taxis, and volunteers. Maintain patient flow across all control areas by liaising with hospital staff and resolving urgent problems or unplanned events. Attend ad-hoc meetings and weekly planning sessions to forecast demand peaks and troughs, while assisting operational managers with daily issues. Dealing with patient enquiries, completing clerical duties such as data input and form completion, and maintaining positive relationships with wards, outpatient units, and bed managers.
Required Qualifications
- Committed to patient care
- Experience of working in a healthcare / hospital setting
- Thorough working knowledge of Non-Emergency Patient Transport services
- The ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – with the ability to explain decisions made
- The ability to make decisions based on impact assessment
- The ability to build effective relationships using influencing skills with key stakeholders to prioritise EMED services and support divisional growth
