Job Summary
Patient Transport Assistant responsible for the safe transportation of patients and related items within the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Responsibilities include moving patients, oxygen therapy equipment, and supplies, cleaning equipment, transporting the deceased to the morgue, and supervising release of bodies to funeral homes. Assists in lifting, turning, and transferring patients for transport; maintains oxygen therapy per instructions. Requires on-the-job Cushman Cart Training and lifts/transfers training, CPR certification, strong interpersonal/English communication, organizational skills, ability to multitask, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including walking long distances and handling heavy loads. Term position (0.48 FTE) with days, evenings, and weekends in an in-person arrangement; supports Indigenous language knowledge and Indigenous cultural awareness are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Complete high school education Manitoba standards
- Must successfully complete Cushman Cart Training within three months
- Lifts and transfers training within one month
- CPR training requirements per Employer policy
