Job Summary
Assist patients with basic needs under the direction of a Registered Nurse, including personal hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and elimination; monitor inputs/outputs and patient vitals; document and report abnormal values; role emphasizes support tasks performed by unlicensed personnel in an acute care setting. Requires high school diploma or equivalent and completion of nursing assistant/medical assistant training as applicable; CPR Heartsaver required; unit secretary training may be required within 90 days of hire. Works day shift in an on-site hospital unit dedicated to elderly acute care.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course preferred
- One year hospital clerical experience preferred
- Current CPR Heartsaver required; Basic Life Support Heartsaver certification or higher preferred
