Job Summary
Conduct routine assistive tasks to assist the Registered Nurse with basic patient needs, including bathing, feeding, ambulation, and elimination assistance. Accurately monitor inputs and outputs while completing and documenting patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, heart rate, and oxygenation. Report abnormal values to the registered nurse and implement fall prevention measures under their direction. Perform other duties as assigned in the 8E-Orthopedics department at Prisma Health's Richland facility.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current or former CNA certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire
- Current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire
- Successful completion of Prisma Health unit secretary course and training within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience
- One year hospital clerical experience
