Job Summary
Greet and register patients, verify documents, and schedule medical, behavioral, and dental appointments while answering phones and collecting co-pays. Enter, update, and verify patient and payer data in EPIC and other electronic systems, scanning documents and maintaining accurate records. Review daily schedules for insurance eligibility, assist with Medicaid applications, and perform appointment reminder calls. Connect patients to internal resources based on their needs and maintain smooth patient flow through communication with clinical staff. Ensure all protected health information remains confidential in accordance with HIPAA and Center policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift files
- Ability to open filing cabinets
- Ability to bend or stand on a stool as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience interpreting health plans
- Prior experience verifying coverage
- Prior experience interpreting co-pays
- Prior experience working with an electronic database
- Experience with accurate maintenance of client or patient data
- Experience with an Electronic Health Record system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to accurately maintain information in an electronic health record
