Job Summary
Dedicated to providing compassionate, continuous observation for patients at risk of harming themselves or others. The Patient Sitter ensures safety and well-being by preventing falls, managing impulsive behaviors, and de-escalating distress. Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, toileting, repositioning, eating or drinking, and fostering comfort through meaningful conversation and engaging activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately
- Ability to maintain focus and provide continuous observation for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a sitter for patients in an acute care or residential setting
- Non-violent crisis intervention experience
