Job Summary
The Patient Services Specialist I (PSS I) role focuses on front desk operations and delivering a professional, compassionate patient experience. Responsibilities include greeting/checking in patients, scheduling/confirming appointments, answering phones, collecting co-pays and verifying insurance, maintaining patient records with HIPAA compliance, handling patient inquiries and complaints, assisting with billing questions and insurance verification, and supporting clinical staff with routine tasks. Required are 2–5 years of experience as a medical receptionist, proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Valant, Salesforce, Epic, Athenahealth, Kareo), strong communication and customer service skills, knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes, and the ability to stay organized and multitask under pressure. Beneficial are familiarity with healthcare privacy standards and coordination with clinic management. Required Qualifications
