Job Summary
Schedule appointment requests, communicate insurance participation and financial responsibility, and obtain patient demographic information to register in EPIC. Perform real-time insurance verification, interpret responses, and escalate cases for resolution. Address outstanding Epic work queue accounts, schedule Epic referrals, and handle general faxing, filing, and mail sorting. Participate in team discussions regarding complex patient scheduling needs and provide back-up coverage as assigned. This role supports ColumbiaDoctors, one of the Northeast's largest multi-specialty practices with over 2,800 physicians and 240 specialties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Excellent customer service and problem assessment skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and programs
Desired Qualifications
- Prior high volume customer service experience in a call center environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
