Job Summary
Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, verify insurance benefits (including precertification/authorization as necessary), determine and collect payments (co-pays/deductibles) or refer to financial counselors, and ensure accurate demographic, billing, and clinical information is entered in the registration system. Acts as a liaison between patients, clinical departments, and healthcare providers (e.g., doctor and lab), utilizing scheduling software and maintaining patient records. The role emphasizes empathy, customer service, and the ability to work across varying duties within MaineGeneral Health clinics, with opportunities to grow within different specialties and locations.
