Job Summary
Greet and register patients, collect payments and insurance details, and verify information according to business practices. Schedule new and existing patients accurately in practice management systems while communicating appointment times, directions, and referral information. Prepare charts for outreach events and manage patient, family, employer, and staff communications. Rotate Switchboard Operator duties to accept, handle, and transfer calls, including coordinating interpreters and referrals. Maintain knowledge of health care plan requirements and networks. Work Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm at our Minnetonka clinic location.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Customer Service experience
- Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 or more hours per day)
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, or reaching within the office environment
- Ability to lift and carry office supplies or files weighing up to 20 pounds
- Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents
- Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly
- Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer)
- Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines
- Ability to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, (e.g. HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws, etc.)
- Ability to demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
- Ability to work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively
- Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally in face-to-face, phone and email interactions
- Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Must be available for Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:30pm and Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
- Must work out of the Minnetonka location
