Job Summary
Welcome patients, check them in, and complete registration by verifying demographics, insurance, and collecting service payments. Manage insurance verifications, authorizations, and consent forms while scanning pertinent information into patient records. Handle incoming calls, messages, and faxes by routing them to appropriate departments, and maintain computer appointment scheduling. Coordinate nurse, physician, and patient time to expedite care delivery. Serve as a public relations agent by directing patients to ancillary services as needed. Work M-TH 8-5 and F 8-Noon on a fill-in-as-needed basis at Avera St Luke's Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
