Patient Services Representative - Mobile Dental Services

Job Summary

Manage incoming communications, schedule and reschedule patient appointments, and coordinate mobile dental visits with schools and community partners. Assess caller needs, conduct appointment reminder calls, and prepare patient charts before visits. Enter data into electronic schedulers, track filled or cancelled appointments, and record patient payments. Communicate schedule updates to the mobile team and partner sites while maintaining accurate patient records. Serve as a backup driver for the mobile dental unit and assist with setup and operational readiness. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for early mornings, extended days, and local travel to support outreach events.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Proof of valid auto insurance
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Willingness to travel locally to support mobile operations and school sites
  • Demonstrates schedule flexibility, including availability for early mornings, extended days, and outreach events

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with electronic medical records and multi-phone lines
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • One year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Knowledgeable about and experience with customer service etiquette and protocols
  • Ability to interact effectively with clinic personnel, patients, and diverse populations
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Ability to use computer programs, such as spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
  • Ability to adapt to both clinic and mobile work environments
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn to safely operate a 33-foot mobile dental unit
