Job Summary
Patient Services Representative facilitates communication between patients and doctors, clinical staff, and administrative staff; serves as liaison between patients, insurance companies, and the Central Billing department. Responsibilities include verifying insurance and obtaining pre-authorizations, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, answering phones, triage, responding to patient inquiries, and maintaining charts. Also responsible for processing payments, posting clean claims, authorizing insurance and billing, scheduling referrals, data entry into the EHR, end-of-day tasks (balancing cash drawer, deposits, reports), managing patient flow, and maintaining a safe, clean office environment; growth and wage increases via company-paid certification program. Must be able to stand/walk, lift up to 15 pounds, and work in a professional medical office environment.
