Job Summary
Coordinate daily clinic preparation including patient identification, check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling. Manage incoming patient care requests, referrals, and work queues while taking and delivering messages to physicians and nurses. Report medical information from patients and referring physicians accurately and in a timely manner. Initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed and ensure proficiency with insurance coverage rules, eligibility, and benefits. Maintain a professional image and adhere to practice communication standards. Complete mandatory insurance training and ongoing competency refreshers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (GED)
- Two (2) plus years of experience customer service
- Proficient with insurance coverage rules
- Proficient with coverage and rules that apply to eligibility, network coverage, and benefits
- Successful completion of mandatory insurance training
- Ongoing competency refreshers
- Competent to initiate and secure prior authorizations as needed
- Competent in telephone system
- Valid driver's license
