Job Summary
Patient Services Representative II Float at Sutter Health/Palo Alto Medical Foundation: Serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the outpatient facility. Greets and checks-in patients, verifies information, schedules appointments, and updates the Electronic Health Record. Facilitates intake procedures, collects payments, and assists with healthcare and insurance forms. Builds rapport with patients, families, and staff while ensuring privacy and safety in compliance with applicable regulations. May orient other staff and support department objectives. Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday 8am–5pm. Requires HS Diploma or equivalent and 1 year of relevant experience; includes responsibilities in patient billing, data interpretation, and multi-tasking in a team environment. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a focus on PHI privacy within a healthcare setting. EOE.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Protect privacy of PHI (Protected Health Information)
